The Motorcycle Fairies

The fairies were riding to the beach. They were riding to the beach on their motorcycles, which were made out of acorns and twigs and ivy. There was a big beetle that the fairies sat on, and the beetle walked on the acorn to make it roll.

They raced along the highway, and pulled up their motorcycles right by the boardwalk. The beetles make tick tick ticking sounds as they cooled off and they walked to the sandy beach. The biggest fairy carried with him a tin can telephone that they had weighed down with rocks, and he threw it into the ocean. The fairies all gathered around the telephone and waited for some sea creature to talk to them.

“Hello?” said a voice on the other line.

“Hello!” said the leader fairy.

“Who are you?” asked the watery voice.

“We’re a gang of motorcycle fairies,” said the fairy.

“Oh,” said the voice. “Well you should come down and say hi!”

“Well that sounds great, but we have to ask. Are you a shark?” said the lead fairy.

There was a long silence on the other end.

“I might not be,” said the voice.
