The Fly Flew Up, the Fly Flew Down, the Fly Did a Loop-de-loop

Alex had been watching the fly carefully for half an hour now. The fly flew up, the fly flew down, the fly did a loop-de-loop. Alex was hungry, and he wanted to eat the fly. He knew that if the fly ever stopped flying he would be able to stick out his long long long tongue and catch him and chew him up. But the fly flew up, the fly flew down, the fly did a loop-de-loop.

Alex was getting impatient. “Hey fly,” he said, “Aren’t you getting tired?”

But the fly didn’t answer. The fly flew up, the fly flew down, the fly did a loop-de-loop.

Alex asked again, “Hey fly, you must be exhausted. Why don’t you rest?”

The fly was tired.

Actually, the fly was REALLY tired.

So the fly flew up, the fly flew down, the fly did a loop-de-loop, and then the fly flew away to his home.

So Alex went to bed hungry.

The fly went to bed tired.

In Alex’s dreams, the fly landed. He stuck out his tongue – GULP! – he ate the fly.

In the fly’s dreams, the fly flew up, the fly flew down, the fly did a loop-de-loop.
