Jessica didn’t know what she had been in her past lives, and she was terribly curious. Was she a queen? An astronaut? A US Senator? When she learned in physics class about the newly discovered tachyon particle that seemed to move backwards in time, and she immediately built her own particle accelerator and harnessed its time traveling properties. She set the dial to sixteen days before she was born, loaded the reactor core with tritium, and pressed the heavy red button.
With an earth ripping twang, she was thrown backwards into her past self. She had a moment to notice in surprise and delight that she had been a butterfly, before she was distracted by a brilliantly red flower and totally forgot everything except her love of nectar.
